Harrisonburg Virginia is my adopted home, having moved here for the diverse community and the natural beauty surrounding town. Our growing family is committed to setting down roots here.
Our pedicab is handmade by Coaster Cycles in Missoula, Montana. They make an awesome machine, ours have an electric assist motor so that we can say “YES!” to every ride. We believe in the pedicab (and our operators;)) as being up for the ride.
Normal Hours of operation:
These are the hours we are actively out pedaling around town. We are available for ride requests any time, and we will do our best to fulfill them. If you know you’d like a ride in advance, we can always make an appointment.
Thursday and Friday: 6 PM - 2 AM
Saturday: 10 AM - 2 AM
A NOTE ABOUT THE WEATHER: Our normal operation is suspended when the temperature dips below 40*F . We will still respond to reservations and requests for service. “Thanks” to you hearty souls that still want to play outside!
The simplest way to get a ride is to wave when you see the cab. Listen for the “DING DONG!” of a bike bell as you are walking around, that means we’re near by. If the seat is empty then the cab is available.
You can also make a reservation ahead of time either by phone/text or email. If you are out and want a ride, you can always text or call to get our attention.
Did you want us to pick up your CSA from the Friendly City Food COOP and deliver it right to your house? We can do that. We're out there moving things and people by bike. Why not let us run an errand for you? Email for rates.
You can always reserve our services before hand for all jobs, big and small. Did you want to hire the cab by the hour? Want us to shuttle guests for your wedding? We'd be happy to be a part of your special day, especially if it means we get to dress up! We can go on a tour of town, look at houses with a realtor. Limos are expensive, but why not make your date a little bit extra special?
Rides start at 5$ for a single rider and 7$ to fill a cab. In the downtown area we have a “Flat Fee Zone” that extends from Hotel Madison to Brother’s Craft Brewery. That means you can get a ride for up to three people from the hotel to the brewery for 7$.
Common rides outside of “the zone”:
Downtown to top of Port Republic/Devon Lane ~ 15-17$
JMU to Backcountry ~ 7-10$
Parking Lots on JMU campus to the front door of the stadium/tailgating ~ 7-10$
Hourly Rate = 50$

Answers to the most frequently asked questions...
Q. Did you build this yourself?
A. Nope. Coaster Cycles in Montana makes our pedicabs, they are way better at it than us.
Q. How far can you go?
A. As far as you need to go. I'm comfortable pedaling long distances, and we have an hourly rate. So far we are undefeated, with a 100% delivery rate.
Q. How much did this thing cost?
A. I know you're curious, but would you ask a chef how much his stove cost or your Lyft driver what they paid for their car?
Q. Does this thing have a motor?
A. Yep. The pedicab has an electric assist motor that can be turned off and on. It doesn't make it easy, it just makes it so we can say "Yes!" to every ride.
Q. Can I pedal it?
A. Yes, for 25$ an hour you can pedal me around while I offer words of encouragement. It's a great workout. :)
Q. How many people fit in a cab?
A. There is a weight limit of 500lbs of passenger. That can look like five 100 pound, 10 year old children, or two large adults. Usually three adult size people fit nicely, if they're friends.
Q. Are you the only one doing this?
A. This is the only pedicab service in Harrisonburg. You will begin to see more operators around town as we add more cabs to the fleet.
Q. Is it heavy/ hard to pedal?
A. The pedicab alone weighs about 180 lbs. A full load of passengers and operator moving down the road weighs about 800 lbs. All said and done, the machine pedals extremely well and is a ton of fun to ride.
